Jo-anne has always been passionate about art, whether sketching or painting, displaying a natural talent. Following high school, she aspired to pursue a career in 3D animation but found city life not to her liking. Leaving art school, she joined Steyn in his hunting venture, together shaping the outfit into what it is today. Despite being in the hunting industry, Jo-anne still felt a pull towards the art world.  After much contemplation, Gerard suggested she explore taxidermy to blend her love for art with her involvement in hunting. Initially daunting, Jo-anne delved into a taxidermy course, engaging in every aspect from skinning to mounting, even studying African animal anatomy independently. With a knack for realistic sketching, this venture felt like a perfect fit. In April 2024, Gerard and Jo-anne launched Forever Africa Taxidermy, receiving overwhelming support locally and globally. Jo-anne’s meticulous touch and personal inspection ensure exceptional quality in every mount and tanned skin, offering a memorable experience. This endeavor has allowed Jo-anne to unite her passion for art with her love for Africa.
